End of Exchange Subsidies Could Spell Problems in Wisconsin
Won’t be pretty if the US Supreme Court takes down Obamacare. That’s the evaluation from the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families. A new report from the group says Wisconsin has more to lose than many of the other 34 states that would lose federal health exchange insurance subsidies if the court finds those subsidies to be unconstitutional. That’s because people getting insurance on the exchange take advantage of those subsidies more in Wisconsin than in many of the other states that haven’t set up their own exchanges. About 180 thousand in the state get their insurance through the exchange. More than 90 percent get subsidies.
