Cooperative Agreement Would Establish Border Between Communities

Holmen and Onalaska have had some boundary fights in recent years, but they’re trying to put the fighting behind them.  This week, the two neighboring communities are hosting a public meeting at the Omni Center to explain a land use plan that would affect them.  Brea Grace runs the Onalaska land use department.  She says the cooperative agreement between the two communities would establish a “grow to” line.  Or, a line beyond which the cities would not build.

That line would be County Highway O-T.  Land owners wanting to annex north of O-T would join the village of Holmen.  South of the road, they would be part of Onalaska.  The hearing on the boundary plan happens at 6 o’clock this Wednesday night at the Omni.
