Police: Booze May Be Factor in Motorcycle Wheelie Wreck

Trying to do a wheelie on a motorcycle did not turn out well for a rider in Genoa this weekend.  Forty-six-year-old Michael Townsend of Hillsboro lost control of his cycle while attempting the wheelie on Main Street in Genoa.  Sheriff’s officers say Townsend was thrown from the bike, and hit a parked vehicle.  He was taken to Gundersen in La Crosse with life-threatening injuries after the Saturday afternoon accident.  Alcohol may have been a factor.
