High Court Weighs in on Monroe Couny Jail Brutality
You beat a jail inmate, you better be doing it for the right reasons. Part of the message from the US Supreme court in the case of 33 year old Michael Kingsley of Tomah. He sued Monroe County jailers for civil rights violations, after they used a Taser and got a little rough with him otherwise while transferring him to another cell. He was in jail on a drug charge. Complained after they used the taser on him and hit his head on a concrete bunk. Apparently the dust-up was over Kingsley’s refusal to remove a piece of paper hanging from a light in his cell.
