Economic Boom Means Rush on Downtown Storefronts

They’re down to seven per cent. That’s how many storefronts in downtown La Crosse have been empty this month. Robin Moses from the Downtown Mainstreet organization says buildings in the central city have been filling up within the last couple of years.  Where two years ago there were 30 empty storefronts in the downtown, there’s about half that number now.

 

Moses has been showing empty buildings to potential tenants in recent weeks. She says there are a couple of vacancies available on Pearl Street, while 5th Avenue has no more unoccupied stores.
