Consultant to Direct Multi-Million Dollar Water Plans
Sixty million dollars. That’s the amount that we’ve been told it may cost to improve La Crosse’s water treatment plant in order to comply with regulations limiting phosphorous that goes into the water. That may be a little high. But there won’t be a complete picture until a consultant to be hired by the city gets through evaluating just what steps the plant needs to take. The city’s public works board this morning will consider contracting with a company from Sheboygan to do just that. Cost of the contract: $72 thousand.
