The DNR is getting serious about tackling the great jumping worm invasion in the state. Officially here for just the last couple of years, they’ve probably been around much longer than that, says DNR forest health specialist Bernie Williams. And, yes, jumping worms really do jump and thrash and make all kinds of not-so-worm-like movements. Williams says it’s too early to determine exactly what impact the jumping worms will have in the state but the worms do destroy surrounding vegetation.
