Local Pols; Gay Ruling a Winner

La Crosse lawmakers are speaking out on the Supreme Court decision supporting gay marriage.  Congressman Ron Kind calls the ruling a step forward for fairness and equality for same-sex couples.  State Senator Jennifer Shilling says communities are strengthened when all couples have equal rights.  Wisconsin’s ban on same-sex marriage, approved in a 2006 constitutional amendment, was overturned by a court ruling late last year.

 

 

 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk."
