New Parking Ramp Employees Possibly on the Way
The city of La Crosse could add more employees in the future…to take care of the downtown parking ramps. Parking utility board members have suggested that the utility should have its own workers to maintain and police the ramps, instead of relying on police or public works employees. Police Sergeant Drew Gavrilos sits on the committee, and says the officers who write parking tickets have to cover the entire downtown, and don’t have much time to patrol the ramps. Gavrilos says it’s hard for the officers to tell who has reserved spaces in the ramps and who does not.
