Secrecy Shrouds Budget Talks
Supposed to be final details of a two year budget deal for Wisconsin getting hammered out in Madison today. Which would be fine, says Jay Heck, from Wisconsin Common Cause; if there wasn’t so much secrecy in the process leading up to the final version. But it’s all secret, he says; everything done behind closed doors and mostly with Republicans calling the shots.
Republicans did announce a deal earlier this week that will leave a new Milwaukee Bucks arena and changes to the state’s prevailing wage laws out of the new two-year spending plan.
