As I See It
Gov. Kleefisch a scary notion
So, Scott Walker wants to be President. But if he wins, are we really ready to say hello to Governor Rebecca Kleefisch? Kleefisch is Wisconsin’s Lt. Governor, a position with no real responsibility. Perhaps that is a good thing. But if Walker were to win the presidency, Kleefisch would be in charge in Wisconsin. And that wouldn’t be a good thing. It was a shock when Kleefisch won the Lt. Governor post. She had no experience in politics, and no money. Governor Walker clearly distanced himself from her, and according to some, didn’t think she was up to the job. And maybe not that bright. She has said some dumb things. Like during the debate over marriage equality years ago when she remarked that if people were allowed to marry those of the same sex, that would be a slippery slope to people marrying animals or inanimate objects. “Can I marry this table, or this clock, or this dog?” That is a quote. She once tried to categorize rape, calling some more “forcible” than others. When finally given a task by Walker, touring the state to talk taxes with business people, including a stop in La Crosse, Kleefisch told the crowd, “We want to know how we can love you more.” Again, a quote. Publicly, Governor Walker has called Kleefisch a trusted ally, but revealingly, declined to comment when asked what type of Governor she would make. Before deciding who to vote for for President, just remember, that if Scott Walker is elected, Wisconsin is stuck with a governor who thinks marriage equality means marrying a coffee table.
