French Island rest area to be completed by Oct. 2016

Every year, 17 million people stop at Wisconsin’s state-run rest areas.

The state DOT is asking travelers either to fill out a survey on paper at the rest areas or to take it online, here.

Questions include why you stop at a rest area, how long you stop and reason you’re traveling.

Just last week at public forum, the DOT asked La Crosse residents to comment on rest area improvements that are planned for next year on French Island. Construction on Rest Area 31 off I-90 should be completed by Oct. of 2016.
