Doyle to succeed Tlustosch on bench in La Crosse

First time it’s happened in the county

For the second time in less than a year, Branch 5 of La Crosse County Court gets a new judge next week.  And for the first time in the county, there will be a woman succeeding another woman on the bench. 

Gloria Doyle was elected in April, and she’ll follow Candice Tlustosch, who was appointed after long-time judge Dale Pasell retired.  

Tlustosch finished third in the primary for judge, but her five months of experience have made her eager to run again in the future. 

Tlustosch tells WIZM that presiding over cases has given her a new perspective on how the courts work.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
