Planned Parenthood to lose funding

Fallout from undercover videos may lead to defunding

No more federal money for Planned Parenthood. 

That’s the vote being taken as soon as today in the U.S. Senate.  It’s part of the fallout from a series of undercover videos that appear to show representatives of the organization casually talking about dismembering fetuses and marketing tissue after abortions.

From Wisconsin Right to Life, Chelsea Shields says, even if the defunding proposal doesn’t pass, the effort is a timely one because of the growing negativity towards Planned Parenthood and some of the group’s activities.

Planned Parenthood maintains that the videos that have been released so far are highly edited and misrepresent what it does. The group receives over a half billion dollars a year from the federal government.
