Another goal missed by Gov. Walker
Number of uninsured dropped only 38 percent, goal was 50
A health insurance goal of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker hasn’t been met yet.
According to a new study from the University of Wisconsin, the number of uninsured in the state has dropped by up to 38 percent since the adoption of Obamacare, meaning the governor’s goal of reducing the number of uninsured in the state by half since that time has missed its mark.
There have been some significant increases in the number of insured, however.
The same report shows the number of poor, childless adults newly covered under the state’s Badgercare medicaid program has increased by over 800 percent. Nationwide, the number of uninsured has dropped by 35 percent since the adoption of Obamacare.
