Legislature wants driver priveleges for undocumented immigrants

A legal driver’s license for an illegal immigrant. Something proposed this week in Wisconsin by Milwaukee state rep JoCasta Zamarripa. Not as a reward for undocumented immigrants, she says. But as a way to improve public safety.

Zamarripa believes the measure will insure that those who are driving have passed a driving test and are more likely to have insurance. 

Zamarripa reasons that illegal immigrants are driving already. Her proposed legislation would simply provide a process for those drivers to do so with a state-issued license.
