Changes apparent to Onalaska schools in two big projects
A major remodel at Northern Hills Elementary as well as a renovation and addition at Irving Pertzsch Elementary, both in Onalaska, are moving along.
Soon enough, says Fran Finco with Onalaska Schools, Northern Hills Elementary will most likely look very different. And employees are liking what they are seeing. He says teachers are excited by the design which creates school neighborhoods which creates some efficiencies and provides room for teachers to work with students in the classrooms and hallways, too.
Irving Pertzsch is adding on a new, bigger gymnasium and converting the current gym into three new classrooms. These projects are the result of the $16 million referendum Onalaska voters passed in February. Both projects are still ongoing even as the new school year creeps closer.
