Houston murder has roots in La Crosse

A horrific murder in Houston, Texas has some back story in La Crosse.  48 year-old David Conley is the man accused of killing eight people in a home in Houston on Saturday after breaking in.  The victims include Valerie and Dwayne Jackson and six of their kids.  They say Conley broke into the home through a window, handcuffed all eight victims and then shot them in the back of the head.  Seven years ago,  Valerie Jackson sought protection from the courts in La Crosse to keep the often violent Conley away from her. It was shortly after that Conley and Valerie Jackson were in court in a paternity suit in La Crosse.  Reports say Conley broke into the Houston home this weekend after Valerie Jackson changed the locks on the doors.
