Police take to streets on scooters

The Segway officers are on the streets.  La Crosse police this week begin their training on two new Segway scooters, recently purchased by the department.  The Segways are the heavy duty kind and outfit for law enforcement, with reflective shields, blue and red police lights, larger all-terrain tires, cargo frames, comfort mats, and some extra lights.  Police will use the Segways to patrol neighborhoods, parks and during festivals, among other situations.
