Man cited for dog park threats

La Crosse police are releasing information about a guy who was apparently threatening to shoot dogs in a dog park a week ago. David Schurhammer is the guy. They say a woman claims he brandished his gun, threatened to shoot her pit bulls and called her names while at the Houska park dog park. Schurhammer admits to threatening the dogs. But only if they attacked his dogs. Still worth a misdemeanor, according to police, for the threats against the dogs and name calling towards the woman who made the complaint in the first place. Police say they recommended to Schurhammer that he maybe find another dog park if he doesn’t like pit bulls.
