Gow thrilled for new building
Getting final state approval to build the UW-L’s new Science Labs Building was simply huge. That’s according to Chancellor Joe Gow.
He says science programs are popular on campus now. In fact, he says, some of the most popular programs at the school are biology and physics, the latter of which has more undergraduate degree recipients than any other in the nation. Gow says the new building will lead to a much larger door opening for students when the building is complete.
The $82 million four-story science labs building will include 35 new instructional and research laboratories for biology, chemistry, geography and earth science, physics, microbiology, river studies, and the radiation center. It will also include a shared administrative and building support spaces. Construction will begin next year.
