Feingold touring state, proposing minimum wage hike

Russ Feingold figures plenty of Americans aren’t keeping up economically.

The former Wisconsin senator, running to regain the job, has plans to fix that. This week, Feingold has been touting his multi-tiered plan in stops across the state.

In the WIZM studio Wednesday, Feingold defended his proposals. One of those, increasing the federal minimum wage. Feingold says the federal minimum should be gradually raised to $15 an hour.  Along with that, the democrat says the government should mandate employers provide paid family leave.

Feingold also suggests some bank regulation reforms to prevent creating a situation in America where banks again are “too big to fail.”

College debt, too, is a focus of the former senator’s.  Feingold wants to address what some have called a college debt crisis by making college more affordable and making it easier to pay off college loans.
