Murder suspect arrested after standoff

Randall suspected in shooting death on La Crosse streets

Deshawn Randall was arrested by police late Friday night after a five-hour standoff. He’s has been arrested in a shooting death on Redfield Street in La Crosse.

Police had evacuated a one block area around a Denton St. apartment Friday night, after following up on leads that he may be hiding there.  After attempts to negotiate with Randall failed, police say Emergency Response Team members entered the apartment building and found Randall alone.

Investigators say the 18-year-old Randall had been hiding in that apartment since about three hours after the shooting that took place at 10 a.m. Friday.

He’s expected to be charged with murder when he appears in court Monday.
