Logan improving school security

Now will have to be buzzed in, like rest of district

School security throughout the La Crosse School District will be improved this coming school year.

Safety Coordinator, Jason Showen, told WIZM that Logan High School has undergone changes in how you’ll be able to enter the building, putting it in line with all schools in the district.

Showen said, though you’ll have to wait approximately 10-15 seconds to enter schools now due to the new processes in place. The doors are locked and someone entering will now have to be buzzed in. Then you’ll go through one more point of entry. All in the name of school safety, Showen said.

Those seconds lost can be the difference between students and staff safety and a bad situation that some schools nationwide have gone through recently, he added.
