Randall accused of shooting Central High student Friday

The bond has been set at $1 million.

That’s what it’ll take to get 18-year-old Deshawn Randall out of jail for alleged murder.

Randall is accused of gunning down 17-year-old Central High School student, George Miller, on the streets of La Crosse on Friday morning.

Police have also connected Randall to shootings that took place a week ago in La Crosse, as well.

He has an additional $25,000 bond on those charges and will be back in court Thursday.

OLDER STORY:

Miller was gunned down on the 1300 block of Redfield St. around 10 a.m.

About 12 hours later, after a five-hour standoff, police arrested Randall, just a few blocks from where the murder took place.

Police had evacuated a one-block area around a Denton St. apartment, following up on leads that he may be hiding there.

After attempts to negotiate with Randall failed, police say Emergency Response Team members entered the apartment building and found Randall alone.

Investigators say Randall had been hiding in that apartment since about three hours after the shooting. He’s expected to be charged with first-degree intentional homicide when he appears in court Monday.

This was the sixth shooting in La Crosse in eight days. The first intentional homicide in two years.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the Miller family.
