Truck careening out of control down Bliss Rd. smashes into bar

An accident at the foot of Grandad Bluff in La Crosse this afternoon has emergency personnel scrambling.

The Bluffside Tavern has suffered significant damage, as a large tanker truck smashed into North side of building.

A power pole was hit, power lines were down and a gas leak were reported at the bar, as well.

Apparently the truck lost control heading down Bliss Rd. Owner, Mike Gazeley saw the truck coming “way too fast” down the hill and he had no time to warn patrons or do much except hit the floor.

Some injuries have been reported. No word yet on the severity of those injuries. Police, fire and Tri-State ambulance were on the scene. Traffic was been diverted from the area, but Main St. has reopened.
