DOT vs. City Council on Exit 3
Three-year plan for I-90 exit controversy
A special meeting a week from now at La Crosse city hall.
The DOT will make a presentation on the Interstate-90 exit-3 interchange construction. Clearly it’s in response to a proposal to have the city council renege on a three-year-old decision to support DOT plans for that project – a proposal that city council member Gary Padesky is pretty leery of.
Nice David-versus-Goliath story, he told WIZM, but it’s going to be hard to fight the state on plans that have been in place for as long as the ones that are currently guiding construction of exit 3.
La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat has proposed retroactively rejecting DOT plans that no longer fit with the city’s long term transportation vision.
