Two rescued off ledge by Grandad Bluff
Women were uninjured
Two women were stranded on a ledge below the face of Grandad Bluff on Thursday morning.
The La Crosse Fire Department was dispatched to assist the stranded women around 11:30 a.m. The two, who were not injured, were hiking and got into a situation where they couldn’t move up or down.
The Urban Search and Rescue Team was called to the scene. A high angle rescue system was put in place and the two females were put in harnesses by team members and raised to the top of the bluff.
They were treated and released at the scene by Tri-State Ambulance. About 15 members of the La Crosse Fire Department were involved in the rescue.
