Construction season is over, but isn’t going to end
Public works director talks ongoing projects in La Crosse
With the paving of a couple of key downtown La Crosse streets beginning this week, it’s easy to look forward to a time devoid of construction and the traffic problems it creates.
You might have to look pretty far ahead, says city public works director, Dale Hexom, because more is coming.
Work on county buildings, a couple of new hotels, a big roundabout on Cass St., a parking ramp. All of that pointing to another two or three years of construction on just current projects, Hexom said.
Though most of the construction is on buildings, inevitably, Hexom said, lanes will have to close to allow for moving heavy machinery.
