Gas down, travel up
Gas prices may offset late labor day travel plans
The average gas price in Wisconsin has dropped $.25 in the last week, and cheaper gas could lead to more travel for the Labor Day weekend.
Nick Jarmusz from the Wisconsin Triple-A says the falling cost of gas may contribute to a two percent increase in highway travel for the holiday weekend, compared to last year.
Jarmusz says higher travel levels could run against the traditional pattern, showing that people are less likely to travel for Labor Day, if the holiday falls late on the calendar.
