School starts Tuesday, watch for school crossings

Crossings are same intersections as last year

No changes to the numbers or assigned intersections for crossing guards in the La Crosse school district this year.  

The police department told WIZM the same six crossings will be manned by a guard in the mornings and afternoons, daily. 

Those crossings are essentially for just three elementary schools – Hamilton, Northside and Emerson.  

The department urges caution for both drivers and kids walking and biking to school as classes resume Tuesday at the public schools.

La Crosse intersection with crossing guards for 2015-2016 school year:

• 21st St. & Main St.
• 2100 Campbell Rd.
• Gillette St & Kane St.
• George St. & Gillette St.
• Losey Blvd. N. & Crowley St.
