Obama says too late to reverse global warming

It may be time to stop denying global warming, or climate change.

That’s what Glen Jenkins with the La Crosse chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby believes. No matter what you call it, the president is right; it’s happening. 

“The facts are out there,” Jenkins said, “I don’t think they are disputable anymore.”

President Barack Obama, in Alaska this week advocating for immediate action on tackling climate change, says the time for deferring to the deniers about warming is past.

Jenkins agrees, current evidence supports that contention and calls it baffling that anyone would deny it. You can definitely see it in Alaska with shrinking glaciers and receding coasts, Jenkins said. But more subtle changes are also apparent in the upper Midwest.

This week, Obama warned that it’s almost too late to make changes to reverse climate change.
