MABLE, Minn. – The town of Mabel, with it’s population just over 750, lost two residents in separate traffic accidents Tuesday.

Both were driving their respective cars, and both apparently crossed into the paths of oncoming vehicles.

One crash happened just west of Mabel when 69-year-old Jerilyn Knowlton died after colliding with a semi in the westbound lane of Hwy. 44.

That crash happened several hours after 19-year-old Mabel resident Enos Swartzentruber crossed the center line of Hwy. 52 near Chatfield, Minn., and crashed into an oncoming SUV.
