La Crosse parking czar position on hold
Mayor hoped to add position for 2016
A new manager for La Crosse’s parking utility probably will be put on hold.
The city council’s personnel committee has voted in a meeting Thursday night to delay a decision, for at least a month, on adding the parking utility coordinator position.
The job is being created to manage the city’s parking structures and lots and generally oversee all of the city’s parking operations.
Mayor Tim Kabat hoped to add a parking manager in the coming year, but the city’s parking utility board still has questions about the job’s duties.
Kabat has said the position would be entirely paid for out of parking revenue. The full council votes on the issue next week.
