Labor Day celebration begins with parade, ends at Copeland Park
Parade starts at 10 at Kane-Gillette street
At 10 a.m. today a parade kicks off a Labor Day celebration for kids and adults alike, thanks to the Western Wisconsin AFL CIO.
The parade begins at Kane and Gillette streets, followed by a party at Copeland Park.
Festivities there will begin around 11 a.m. with games, 50-50 raffles and other activities, including a lot of children’s activities (a sawdust pile with dollar prizes, face painting, temporary tattoos, fishing pond).
Soda, beer, brats and snacks will be offered for sale.
Recently retired AFSCME Council 24 executive director Marty Beil, and his wife Sue, will be this year’s Labor Day parade grand marshal and chair.
