Routine traffic stop lands two in jail
Speeding ticket turns into drug and concealed weapon charges
WILTON, Wis. – Just after 8 p.m. Saturday night, police pulled over a car for speeding in Wilton. During the stop, police smelled marijuana coming from the car.
Nicole Gard of Madison, and passenger Max Lofthouse of Middleton, Wis., both admitted to having a marijuana joint. A search of the car revealed a pot pipe and two separate baggies of marijuana.
Lofthouse admitted that the pipe and pot and were his. Gard admitted to having a taser and butcher knife in her possession.
Both were taken into custody and to the Monroe County jail.
Lofthouse was charged with possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gard was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
