La Crosse mayor not getting a raise
Even mayor vetoed a 10% raise from $77,000
No raise for La Crosse’s mayor.
The city council has failed by two votes to override the veto of a 10-percent raise for the city’s mayor position – a raise that would not go into effect until after the next election.
Mayor Tim Kabat had vetoed the raise last month saying, in part, the current $77,000 salary to run city government was more than adequate and people don’t run for mayor because of the salary, anyway.
