Wisconsin Gov. Walker taking first steps in drug testing for benefits
Scope statements have been approved
This week, Wisconsin governor Scott Walker approved scope statements relating to drug testing of able-bodied adults seeking certain government benefits, including FoodShare and unemployment.
Scope statements are the first step in the process of implementing the drug testing policy.
Department of Health Services secretary Kitty Rhoades says she hears it all the time, ‘We have jobs. Now we need a workforce.’
Rhodes says, in the coming months, the state will be working along with the Department of Workforce Development and the Department of Children and Families to put this plan into action.
