Republican presidential debate could come to La Crosse

Site and date haven’t been determined, but will happen in Wisconsin in November

The Republican presidential debate was a made-for-TV spectacle Wednesday night, and that could be coming to La Crosse.

There’s one more debate – Oct. 28 at the University of Colorado – before a November debate in which the Republican Party said will take place in Wisconsin.

No word on where or an exact date, but La Crosse has been a rumored location, because President Barack Obama spoke at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse last summer.

The debate will air on the Fox Business Network.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
