Public meetings to discuss transportation, including La Crosse corridor
DOT wants public input on where to make improvements
Nothing settled yet on a possible north-south corridor for the city of La Crosse.
Public involvement meetings will be held next week at a couple locations in order for the DOT to get more input about ways to improve transportation in the area over the next several years.
This is the third round of these public meetings, and the agency has received hundreds of comments relating to proposed improvements.
Much of the conversation has focused on the plan to build a road through the marsh but many have also called for better bike infrastructure or for building a bridge from the end of French Island to the former Mobil Oil site.
The DOT says no plan has been selected yet.
