Hotel project could close more roads downtown

Hilton project going up in old Hooters parking lot

The new hotel project on the old Hooters parking lot in La Crosse could Monday. 

La Crosse’s board of public works has approved restrictions on 2nd, Jay, and King streets around the parking lot, which could take effect on September 28. 

Traffic on those streets may be narrowed or closed until May of next year. A skyway could be built to connect the hotel with a parking ramp near the La Crosse Center.

The new Hilton Hotel project being developed by Don Weber would be an extended-stay building with over 100 rooms.
