Oktoberfest medallion hunt is on

Each day a clue will be posted until Sept. 30

A sure sign that Oktoberfest is close. Today was the first day of the Oktoberfest medallion search for 2015.

A maximum of 10 clues will be issued to help hunters find the medal, which is on public property and may be camouflaged but is not buried. 

Each clue will be posted here until Sept. 30 or until it is found. Whoever finds it wins 500 dollars and other prizes.

Last fall, the medallion was found after seven clues at Veterans Freedom Park, on the north side

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
