La Crosse Airport beginning to use Pre-Check

Costs $85, lasts five years

You can think of it as an express checkout lane in the airport. At dozens of airports in the U.S., passengers can sign up to get through security without having to go through the fuss of taking off shoes or other clothing. 

The La Crosse Airport has just begun using the TSA Pre-Check system. The government says it will still screen everybody wanting to get on a plane at the airport terminal, but the process will be faster for those who enlist in Pre-Check. The enrollment will cost $85 for a membership that lasts five years.
