City may need to approve what gets improved at La Crosse Center
Building has $75 million in possible projects
City Hall is getting ready to decide how much money should be spent to modernize the La Crosse Center.
A total of $75 million in possible projects have been identified.
Mayor Tim Kabat told the center board that the city council may be asked to review construction packages of different sizes, such as $20- 30 million.
Kabat says the finance department is looking at tax exempt bonding to pay for improvements to the building which opened in 1980.
Board members are suggesting that additions such as a new ballroom should be high priorities, but adding a new front entrance to the center might be much lower on the list.
