Diabetes fundraising walk Sunday at Myrick

Around 500 expected for “Walk to Cure Diabetes”

Around 500 people are expected to participate in the 1.5-mile “Walk to Cure Diabetes” event Sunday.

Registration begins at noon, the event starts at 1 p.m., from the main shelter Myrick Park in La Crosse for the family-oriented event.

The purpose of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation sponsored event is to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. So far the La Crosse event has raised $33,660, while organizers have set a goal of $66,580.
