Holmen’s Kuhlmann named Wisconsin coach of year

Veteran coach of 29 years, led Vikings to two state titles

She’s been named coach of the year in Wisconsin by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).

Holmen High School’s Karen Kuhlmann was awarded the honor from the Wisconsin Gymnastics Coaches Association.

She’s been coaching the Vikings for 29 seasons, leading the team to two state titles and two state runners-up.

The NFHS recognizes 1,000 coaches at the state level, 168 at sections and 21 nationally. Wisconsin is part of Section 4, which also represents Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Michigan.
