Aid station downtown to help ‘festers

In Subway parking lot until 3 a.m. Saturday

Once again this year, one of the most popular corners in downtown La Crosse during Oktoberfest may be 3rd and Pearl.  

That’s where the Third Street aid station will be through 3 a.m. Sunday morning. 

This is the ninth year that city police and local businesses are working together to run a trailer in the Subway parking lot during the fest.  

Hundreds of people have brought their cellphones to the aid station to be recharged. The trailer is also a place to make phone calls, get a late-night snack or arrange to meet your friends.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
