Fire Dept. had a busy weekend

Calls were up 125 percent

The La Crosse Fire Department saw a 125-percent increase in responses for Oktoberfest Friday and Saturday, as compared to their 2015 daily average.

The department averages 16 responses per day. On Friday and Saturday, it received 72 calls – 54 of those were medical responses. Seven of those medical calls were classified as alcohol related.

The majority of the responses were in the downtown and campus areas of La Crosse.
