School bus company nearly complete with new routes

First Student got year off to horrible start picking up, dropping off students late

Revamped bus routes for the La Crosse school district are still expected to be operational soon. 

In the latest update from First Student, the bus company says it’s finished dry runs of bus routes and is making adjustments to those routes based on driver feedback and some traffic variables. 

First Student says the anticipation is that the full implementation of the routing system will be complete before the end of this month. 

First Student also says it continues to hire new drivers and is in the midst of putting those drivers through a 50-hour training program. 

The new bus routes for First Student are actually the old bus routes that are being re-implemented after the company’s disastrous start to the current school year, which left many La Crosse students stranded at bus stops or brought them home hours after school had ended.
