La Crosse airport gets $2.6 million to help with remodel

BRF airport received $350,000 for electrical equipment

A couple of area airports are getting construction money from the state transportation department.

The DOT has approved $2.6 million in funds for the La Crosse airport to complete remodeling of the terminal that began a year ago. Most of the money is coming from Washington D.C., with smaller amounts provided by the city of La Crosse and the state.

That funding will remodel the bridges that passengers take between a plane and the second floor of the terminal, where passenger screening is now located.

The Black River Falls, Wis., airport is getting $350,000 for possible repair of electrical equipment at its airfield.
